Edison, NJ Lodge 1978 a "Total Loss" After July 22 Fire of Undetermined Origin

Deputy Fire Chief Ralph Ambrosio said fire officials received a report of smoke coming from the building ataround 4:30 a.m. "It was through the roof when we arrived," Ambrosio said, adding 25 firefighters responded and fought the blaze. "Very little we could've done. "There were no reported injuries. The fire, which originated in the rear of the Talmadge Road building, is not considered suspicious, Ambrosiosaid. It remains under investigation. The last person to be in the lodge left at around 1:30 a.m., Ambrosio said. Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control in about an hour. Ambrosio said flames spread to mulch piles at a nearby landscaping business but were extinguished. The lodge had been in existence for more than 40 years, Ambrosio said he was told. More Info
