Boat Club News From Bob Messmer
Boat Club,
First of all I would like to thank all that participated in the spaghetti dinner; it was a success.
Mark your calendar for the following events, that the boat club is sponsoring:
The Thanksgiving Day celebration, to be held at the Lake on Sat. November 17.
On Saturday Dec. 1 the boat club is sponsoring a Crappie-Thon fishing tournament at the lake. This will be open to all lodge members and their guests. For information call Linda Breland @ 956-1679, More details will follow in the next bulletin.
And finally a date of Sat Dec. 15th has been selected to have the annual Christmas gathering. The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday Nov. 1st @ 8 p.m. among other normal business matters we also will have election of officers. All active boat club members are requested to be in attendance and vote for the candidates of your choosing.

Boat Club News From Bob Messmer
First of all we all want to thank Nell Westmoreland , Betty McCoy and Walt Harris for a fantastic Labor Day celebration. We had a great turnout and everyone had a good time.
Mark your calendar for the following events, that the boat club is sponsoring:
On Thursday Oct 4th the Boat club is hosting a spaghetti dinner at the Lodge. The hours are 5:30 to 7:30. The menu is salad, spaghetti and meat sauce with garlic bread. Adults are $6.00 and children $3.00. For those that are helping with the meal we will need to be there at 4:30 to get things started, and we could use some volunteers to assist with the cleanup. This is open for all lodge members and their guests to attend. And at 8:00 we will have our monthly boat club meeting (New Members are welcome).

The weigh in will consist of the seven biggest fish presented by each team, and the weigh in is at 3:00 p.m. There will be a barbecue dinner folowing the weigh in. All will be held at the Lake Sinclair property. Any Questions call the committee chair person Linda Breland @ 956-1679.

NASCAR Party This Saturday, August 25th!
Race out to the Lodge this Saturday, August 25th, for a fun-filled night. Moose appreciation will start the fun off from 4 pm to 6 pm and we will be having a NASCAR party with fun, food, and fellowship after that. Lots of door prizes, racing pools, and much, much, more! The 2007 Georgia Moose Legion All State Celebration will be Hosted by Chattahoochee Valley #130 August 3rd, 4th, and 5th at the Albany Lodge #1285. Deputy Fire Chief Ralph Ambrosio said fire officials received a report of smoke coming from the building ataround 4:30 a.m. "It was through the roof when we arrived," Ambrosio said, adding 25 firefighters responded and fought the blaze. "Very little we could've done. "There were no reported injuries. The fire, which originated in the rear of the Talmadge Road building, is not considered suspicious, Ambrosiosaid. It remains under investigation. The last person to be in the lodge left at around 1:30 a.m., Ambrosio said. Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control in about an hour. Ambrosio said flames spread to mulch piles at a nearby landscaping business but were extinguished. The lodge had been in existence for more than 40 years, Ambrosio said he was told. More Info

None Injured, $250K in Damage As Lightning Strikes Moosehaven LifeCare Center
Orange Park, FL, July 1 -- No injuries were sustained among the 43 residents of the Chancellor Wing of the Moosehaven LifeCare Center in Orange Park, FL, who were evacuated after lightning struck the roof at the east end of the structure and started a fire Sunday afternoon. Flight 93 Memorial Fund Receives $421,000
Jerry and Karen Bingham of Leesburg, FL, expressed their appreciation Monday afternoon to nearly 6,000 men and women of the Moose fraternal organization at the 2007 International Moose Convention in Orlando, as the Moose presented a check for $421,120 toward the National Park Service Flight 93 National Memorial in Somerset County, PA. On September 8th, the Houston County Sheriff's Department & the Georgia Sheriff's Youth Homes Present their Fifth Annual Poker Run in memory of deputy Ronnie Harlowe II (Rain date Sept 15th). Registration starts at 11am at the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry, Georgia. First bike out 12pm, last bike out 1pm, last bike in 4pm. $15.00 per hand or $ 25.00 per couple, prizes for the top three hands of straight poker. $300 1st place hand, $200 2nd place hand, $100 3rd place hand. 4th of July Plans Have Changed
Due to many Lodge Officers and members being away on vacations and other trips, the 4th of July cookout will not be held at the lodge. Keep in mind that the Boat Club and MORK will be having their cookout on June 30th and they have invited the whole lodge, so if your in town make plans to attend. There are plans already underway for a HUGE Labor day event so stay tuned for more details.
On another note, the officers meeting and the LOOM meeting scheduled on July 2nd and 3rd respectively, have been canceled.
